On Saturday, March 8th at 7:00 PM, The Shed presents at Barbès a film screening in celebration of Women’s Day. The event entitled Women: Experimental Films will showcase 14 films and is programmed by Roberta Bonisson. The following filmmakers will be represented: Sasha Waters Freyer, Hildebrand+Magsamen , Rosane Chameki, Andrea Lerner, Bahar Behbahani, Beth Portnoy, Kristine Marx, Shannon Brunette, Negar Behbahani, Shannon Plumb, Gabriela Gusmão, Toni Simon, Terry Berkowitz, Camila Sobral, Lelé Luiza e Roberta Bonisson. The program is dedicated to all women and in particular to those working with the moving image. It salutes their commitment to explore, with humor, poetry and activism issues of displacement, memory, loss of individual power, maternal ambivalence, family and identity.
