Sonita Singwi

Sonita Singwi received an MFA from Hunter College and an MA in Art History from New York University. She has shown with Liebman Magnan Gallery in New York City and Hales Gallery in London. Her work was included in Unbroken at PS 122, organized by Paola Morsiani, currently Director, Neuberger Museum of Art of Purchase College. Museum shows include Brooklyn! at the Palm Beach Institute of Contemporary Art, and Sight Mapping, which opened at the Sala Rekalde, Bilbao/Spain and traveled to the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow/Scotland, as well as the Konsthallen – Bohuslans Museum, Uddevalla/Sweden. Most recently she has shown with Small and Casual Gallery in Queens, New York. Her next solo show is with The Shed, Brooklyn, New York.

Singwi’s work has been reviewed by The New York Times, Art in America, as well as by Contemporary, and Modern Painters. She is a fellow of Yaddo and the Artist in the Marketplace (A.I.M.) Program of The Bronx Museum of the Arts. Her studio is in the Old Can Factory in Gowanus, Brooklyn.
