Scratching the Surface

Silversprings.01copyIn this body of work, Meighan imposed drawings on a layer of glass between the viewer (camera) and the landscape. Two traditional methods of image making combine, layering time principles in opposition to one another. Crayon lines inscribed on the glass membrane record a passing of time into memory. Together these temporal modes endeavor to illustrate our place in the landscape and in our imagination.
