Cecelia Rembert’s new paintings are investigations into her psychological interior— memories, dreams and fantasies— while also exploring the universality of language, archetypes, and symbols; and reveling in the places where the two intertwine. Rembert lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She received a Masters in Fine Art at the New York Studio School in 2007, and a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College in 1998. She was a Fellow of the Center for Emerging Visual Artists in Philadelphia in 2008-2010, and has been awarded a Vermont Studio Center Fellowship and a Ruth Chenven Grant for Visual Artists.
